What Birth Halo is Addressing
The Gap in Postpartum Care
The world is demanding more from families and new mothers in ways it has not before. Standard postpartum care is proving inadequate, and with so much information just a click away, it’s hard to know what advice to follow. We are here to help.
Maternal mortality rates are significantly higher in the United States versus other developing countries.
Postpartum Depression (PPD) and anxiety affect10-20% of birthers in the United States and 10% of partners. Early detection is essential to prevent complications which in turn can endanger the mother-infant relationship and the child's normal development.
As a mom of two, I distinctly remember sitting at my kitchen table staring at my then 8 week old feeling lost, isolated, and in need of some support. I was drowning in the fresh new task of motherhood. It wasn't until I sought a community of moms that I started to feel somewhat "normal" again. I was able to ask questions, get advice and feel like I had support. Having that support truly saved my life. As a family nurse practitioner working in a pediatric clinic, I see the same look in new mom's eyes everyday. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have postpartum support. And, while we often think of postpartum as being a mom of a newborn, I think of it more as being a mom of any child, any age. We need the life long support from other moms, professionals, and supportive women alike to ensure we contribute to the health of our moms which in turn provides wellness to our children. Birth Halo is exactly what is needed to support all of us moms who are out here trying to do our best to raise good humans! Much gratitude to Sami and Kristen for understanding the necessity of such support.

Birth Halo is a revolutionary concept in a much needed space in Health Care. We live in a time where family support and dynamics are highly variable, and there is a very true gap in postpartum care. Our country frankly falls behind the mark when compared to other developed countries. This gap is even more severe among the disadvantaged, and a commitment to helping in this sector makes Birth Halo even more exceptional. The services offered take an intimate approach to a difficult phase in a mother's life, where comprehensive care is so important to her well being. Their evidence based approach and staffing of credentialed providers also shows a commitment to clinical excellence. I am very excited to see this service grow and help those in need.

I'm a brand new mama and returning to work in a few short weeks. I was feeling lost and overwhelmed about how to continue breastfeeding and pumping to feed my sweet baby. I was able to easily set up a consultation with Jennifer. She listened to all of my thoughts, worries, and concerns. She eased my mind by validating my feelings and providing realistic solutions that fit within my lifestyle. I walked away with the knowledge and confidence I needed to continue breastfeeding/pumping for my baby. I would highly recommend Jennifer and Birth Halo for all your baby needs!
I also made a call with Ezinne to work through my physical, emotional, and mental negativities I was experiencing from my emergency C-section. Ezinne did a wonderful job listening to me and validating my feelings. She also did well explaining the details of the medical occurrences during my labor that weren't explained at the time. Ezinne is very knowledgeable about all aspects of labor, birth, and postpartum. I felt very cared for and heard.
